Margaret T. “Peg” Bauer, 85, of 602 Center Street, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 7, 2022, at Penn Highlands Elk.
She was born October 15, 1936, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Squires McKnight. Peg was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools. She was employed at Sylvania where she retired after 35 years.
On June 18, 1954, in the Sacred Heart Church, Peg married Glenn E. Bauer, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Linda Larkin (Charles) of Brockport and Leslie Bauer (Lee) of St. Marys; three sons: Timothy Bauer (Kelly) of St. Marys, David Bauer of Virginia, and Wade Bauer (Paula) of St. Marys; seven grandchildren: Cole, Marissa, Chelsie, Ryan, Hayley, Robbie, and Allen; by seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Lou Herzing of St. Marys; her brother, John McKnight (MaryJo) of St. Marys; and by her little dog, Sadie.
In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Donovan
Peg was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and was active with the church volunteering her time especially during the bread sales. She was a member of the St. Anne’s Society, was a girl scout leader, and cherished her family.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday January 13, 2022 at 12:00 PM, with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Elk County Human Society, 1029 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.

So very sorry about your mom, Leslie. She was a nice, kind, sweet lady that everyone liked. You have our deepest sympathy. She will be missed.
So sorry for your loss. Peg had a great laugh. I had many good, fun, and great times with her. I will miss her, she surely is in heaven.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Peg was a special lady and I have fond memories of her fun spirit.

I am very sorry to learn of Peg’s passing. I will miss seeing and talking with her when she would bring Romper then Sadie. We used to have a lot of fun at card club . So very sorry for your loss, you have my deepest sympathies.

Leslie, so sorry to hear about your mom. In the years I worked with your mom at Sylvania we became good friends. I will cherish those memories always.

My deepest sympathy to Peg’s family. I knew Peg from St. Anne’s and also Sacred Heart social committee. She was always so kind to me. And we shared a lot of laughs. She will be missed but I know her good heart and soul are resting in Peace.
