Maggie Rose (Sobierajski) Blough, 37, passed away on February 26, 2022 after facing brain cancer with courage and resilience for the past nine years, almost four of which were with aggressive glioblastoma.
Maggie was born on October 29, 1984 in St. Marys, PA to Ronald and Elizabeth (Sinibaldi) Sobierajski and grew up on Vine Road.
She attended St. Marys Area Schools and graduated from St. Marys Area High School, Class of 2003. In 2004 she graduated from Altoona Beauty School and worked as a hairstylist for several years before working for First Commonwealth Bank for ten years.
Maggie met and fell in love with the love of her life in 2005 and on May 17, 2014, married Nathaniel “Nate” Blough in Altoona, PA, where they resided.
Maggie is survived by her parents; an older sister, Abby and her husband, Thomas Carver of Fuquay-Varina, NC; in-laws, Ann and Ed Moyer of Duncansville, PA; and Brian and Jill Blough of Frederick, MD.
Maggie is also survived by her aunts: Marcy Sobierajski of St. Marys, Donna Miller (Bob) of Williamsport, PA, Anne Herzing (Stephen K.) of St. Marys, Mary Mancino of Bethlehem, PA, and Patty Sindelar of Pittsburgh, PA; her cousins: David (Kayla), Channing, Myles, and Jocelyn Anderson; Brihanna (Josh) and Tripp Nesbitt; Jackie (Rob), Paige and Jack Reinhart; Ashley Miller; Portia (Jason), Taylor and Kenta Belsole; Nichole (David), Keegan, Henry, and Norah Simpson; Karl (Olivia) and Brock Herzing; Lisa (Marty) and Tanner Barnhart; Brianna (Gregory), Cora and Colton Schneider; Tanner Barnhart; Gena Mancino; Krista Mancino, Colin and Owen Lansek; Nicholas Sindelar; and Danielle Sindelar; also survived by Angela Blough, Bowen Blough, and Tanner Zeak; and Kristina Blough (Eric Heidler), Elicia and Colton Heidler of Altoona.
Karen, Jordan (Justin), and Kai Beckwith were very generous and special to her. Vicki Forsht was a loving and devoted friend since they began working at the bank together. Maggie’s hospice nurse, Karen Bubier, became a friend to her in a short time. Her cat, Ruby, was also by her side.
Maggie is predeceased by her grandparents, Joseph and Rose Sobierajski and Nicholas and Vera Sinibaldi; her cousin, David Miller; and her uncle, Larry Mancino. In November 2021, her dog-nephew, Jackson, passed away and her beloved dog, Geno, passed in January 2022.
Maggie loved her family immensely, decorating her home, and was a Buffalo Bills fan from birth. She loved going to Disney World, water parks, swimming, watching her husband play sports, and watching sports with him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 12:30 PM, with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life for Maggie will be held in Altoona at a later date to be announced.
If attending Maggie’s funeral, she invites you to wear colorful and casual clothing. Due to Covid and immunocompromised family members, please wear a mask and refrain from hugging and shaking hands with Maggie’s immediate family. We will feel your support by your attendance.
Donations in Maggie’s name may be made to Pinnacle Hospice Care, 5410 6th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
I remember my Son Brandon talking about Maggie a lot. He went to school with her. She would send things home for him to fix for her. He said she was a kind girl. He also had Maggie’s Mom as his teacher. I am very sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family during this time of sorrow.

When I think of Maggie, I see her sweet, gentle smile. For someone who was strong beyond comprehension, she never seemed to let it show when she was around me. I will always treasure your visits to MD and our walks around RIO and going to Skins games. In my heart forever, sweet girl 💕
