Lucy R. Gnan | 80

December 28, 1940 - October 4, 2021

Lucy R. Gnan, 80, of 607 Vermont Road, St. Marys, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, at Pinecrest Manor, after a lengthy illness.

She was born December 28, 1940, in Toby, daughter of the late Augustino and Aurelia Mattiuz Mattivi. Lucy was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1958. She was a former employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company as well as the owner of the former Treasure Chest and previous owner of the Gourmet Kitchen in DuBois.

On June 26, 1965, in the St. Boniface Church, Lucy married Leander E. “Skip” Gnan, who survives.

In addition to her husband, Lucy is survived by her daughter, Sharon Krise and her husband Greg of St. Marys; three sons: Robert Gnan and his wife Darlene of Greenville, NC, Douglas Gnan of St. Petersburg, FL, and Michael Gnan and his wife Lindie of St. Marys; seven grandchildren: G. L. Foley, Nate Krise, Mason Krise, Lakyn Geer, Lauren Geer, Tayler Gnan, and Johnathan Gnan; three great-grandchildren: Leo Caruso, Evelyn Buehler, and Jacob Foley; and by a sister-in-law: Mary Ann Mattivi of St. Marys.

Besides her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by two sisters: Isabella Mattivi and Anna Uhl; and by seven brothers: Casey, Renaldo, John, Bruno, Irvin, Raymond, and Edward Mattivi. She was the last member of her immediate family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation is at the St. Boniface Church Gathering Space on Thursday morning, from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Pinecrest Manor, 763 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.
