Kimberly A. Cortina, 64, of St. Marys, passed away peacefully Monday, June 23, 2025 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born September 14, 1960 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Silvio D. and Edith J. Marconi Cortina. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1978. Kimmy worked for over thirty years at Oak Manor assisting and caring for adults that needed special care. Following her years at Oak Manor, she worked with the St. Marys Area School District, empowering students with disabilities.
Kimmy is survived by her loving siblings: Sharon Moore (Jeff), Michael Cortina (Kathy), and Raymond Cortina (Aimee), all of St. Marys; her beloved niece and nephews: Alex Moore, Kaitlyn Gaton, Jake Cortina (Jolene), Jeffrey Moore, Ben Cortina (Erin), Kyle Gaton (Hillary), and Anthony Cortina; and great-nieces and nephew: Willa, Leo, and Joella.
Kimmy was a kind and generous person, never too busy to help someone. She found joy offering to drive her niece and nephews to their many activities. Her kindness and caring nature extended to animals as well. She loved her Siberian Husky, “Zac” and her cat, “Rudy”. She enjoyed cooking and cherished her time catering with her mom on weekends. Kimmy loved music, especially Bruce Springsteen, whom she saw thirty times in concert. During the summer months, she looked forward to spending time with her friends at the community pool. She will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Queen of the World Church on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 10:00AM, with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.
