Judith A. Diebel | 81

May 24, 1941 - September 8, 2022

Judith Ann Diebel, 81, of 114 Fern Lane, Kersey, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Penn Highlands Elk.

She was born May 24, 1941, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Francis J. and Charlotte Squires Anzinger. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Fox Township High School, Class of 1959. Judy was a former home support employee of Community Nurses and a retired school bus driver for Muccio Transportation.

On October 7, 1961, in the St. Boniface Church, Judy married John G. Diebel who survives. They were blessed to share 61 years of marriage together.

Along with her husband, she is survived by two sons: John Diebel (Shannon Hudish) of Morrisdale and Michael Diebel (Heather) of Henderson, NV; three granddaughters: Alyssa Welder (Paul “P.J.”), Lauren Diebel, and Madilyn Diebel; two brothers, Thomas (Lynn) Anzinger and Robert Anzinger, both of Kersey; two nieces: Jacqueline (Paul) LeGrys and Michelle “Missy” (Todd) Woodward, and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Ann Diebel, in 1964. Judy was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and the Fox Township Senior Center. She was a happy, fun-loving person with an infectious smile, who loved helping everyone. She found the most joy in spending time with her family and friends, and she loved her cat, Leroy.

There will be no visitation.

Funeral and committal services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Faith Baptist Church, 288 West Creek Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 or the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 East Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.

  1. Sincere condolences to John, John and Mike. Good times and good memories growing up around the Diebel household in my middle to high school years in the 80’s that I’ll always have. Thankful to Judy and John opening their home to some of the neighborhood kids. God bless.

  2. John and family, so sorry to hear of Judy’s passing. I got to know her when we worked at the nurses support service. She always had a kind word for everyone and a smile to light up the room. I will keep you all in my prayers.
