Juanita A. Uhl | 85

May 11, 1939 - September 8, 2024

Juanita A. Uhl, 85, of Old Kersey Road, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

She was born May 11, 1939 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Brandt Wissinger.  She was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1957 and was employed at Powdered Metal Products for over 30 years.

On October 3, 1964, in Sacred Heart Church, she married the late Charles J. Uhl, who preceded her in death on January 21, 2024.  They were happily married for 59 years.

Juanita is survived by her three sons: Jeffery (Marsha), Timothy (Jennifer), and Wesley (Dawn) Uhl; her daughter, Patricia Uhl Merritt; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Rose Johnston; a brother-in-law, Richard Cashmer; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Juanita was preceded in death by a brother, George Wissinger, and two sisters, Blanche Long and Elsie Cashmer.

Juanita was a supportive and loving wife, a caring mother, and the biggest fan for all of her grandchildren.  She always found time to attend their events and looked forward to cheering them on in whatever activity they were participating.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 11:00AM in the St. Boniface Church with Rev. Kevin Holland, Pastor, celebrating.  Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Penn Highlands Community Nurses Hospice, 757 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.

  1. Patty and Family, sorry to hear about your Mom passing away 😔 I hope you can find comfort in knowing that soon Jesus Christ will resurrect those in the Memorial tombs, this is a promise found in the Bible book of John chapter 5 and verse 28,29!!!

    You reached out to me after my mother Mary Koch, had passed. I appreciated your letters and phone calls. I will miss hearing from you. You always had such a big heart.

  3. Aunt Juanita, you were always there for everyone. I loved your witty ways. We last spoke just a few short weeks ago. So glad that we did.
