John W. Dippold, Jr., 83, of 507 N. St. Marys Street, St. Marys, passed away with his family by his side Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Penn Highlands Elk.

He was born August 17, 1941 in St. Marys, son of the late John W. and Jeanne Millen Dippold.  He was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1959, and owned JWD Associates as a manufacturer’s representative for many companies.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Dippold.

John found great pleasure in nature.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, taking trips out west to hunt and Canada to fish.  He was proud to be the caretaker of the St. Marys Sportsmen’s Club, where he took care of the property from 2010 until 2024.  He was a former Exalted Ruler for the Elks Club on two separate occasions and was a proud member of the St. Marys Area High School’s undefeated football team from 1957-59.  Although he found enjoyment in many things, there was nothing more special to John than the times he spent with his family, whom he loved dearly.

  1. It’s been many years since the last Dippold reunion that the McIntyres attended at the Sportsmans Club, but the memories are fond ones.

Sorry we didn’t find out about John’s loss until the week after, or we would have come up for the service. RIP, John, and blessings to the family.

  2. Rest in Peace 🕊️ John

  3. Manhattan’s, grilled Limburger, onion sandwich, ramp dip, fishing and hunting stories.
John will always be a part of camp.

    RIP Mr. Dippold

PS: Jimmy told me about that big deer. LMAO!

  4. A Tribute to a Dear Friend

There are some people in life who bring light, laughter, and unforgettable memories wherever they go. My dear friend was one of those rare souls—the life of the party, the heart of every gathering, and the kind of person who could turn even an ordinary moment into something extraordinary.

Whenever Red Solo Cup plays, I can’t help but smile, remembering all the amazing times we shared. The laughter, the wild adventures, and the way he made everyone around him feel like family. His joy was infectious, his spirit unbreakable, and his presence irreplaceable.

Though he may no longer be with us in body, his energy, his humor, and his love live on in each of us who had the privilege of knowing him. My deepest condolences to you all—may we carry his light forward, celebrating the way he lived: with passion, fun, and an open heart.

Rest easy, my friend. You are deeply missed!
