Geraldine P. “Gerri” Hoffman, 80, of 148 Upper Cherry Road, Kersey, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Pinecrest Manor.
She was born February 27, 1943 in St. Marys, daughter of the late George and Elsie Martin Pfaff. She was a lifelong resident of the area, graduated from the first graduating class at Elk County Christian, Class of 1962, and was employed at Sylvania.
On November 23, 1962 in Sacred Heart Church, Gerri married Louis Hoffman, who survives. They were blessed to share 61 years of marriage.
Along with her loving husband, Gerri is survived by two daughters, Christine Rupprecht and Amy Hoffman, both of Kersey; and a grandson, Stephen Rupprecht.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen James “Gibby” Hoffman on March 9, 1994 and by her sister, Diane Fassl. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Gerri was a member of St. Boniface Church and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed her time traveling to craft shows but nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family. She was the best mom to her children and made the house their home. Gerri cherished each moment with her family and her favorite role was that of Nana to Stephen. She will be missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gerri will be held in St. Boniface Church on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11:00AM with Rev. Kevin Holland, Pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the St. Boniface gathering space on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 10:00AM until the time of Mass.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846.
Dear Louie, Amy, Chrissy and Stephen,
I was very saddened to hear of Gerri’s passing. We shared a bond that only cousins can share. She will be missed. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Louie and Family,
It is with sorrow that I write this to you. Gerri was a great friend to Lindy (my sister) and I know she will be missed. She had the greatest smile and laugh. Although she was a couple years younger than me, she brought such a sweet smile whenever I saw her. God Bless you all.
Such a sweet friendly lady! I’m so sorry for your loss.
I worked with Gerri at Sylvania for many years. She could always put a smile on your face. She loved going on our shopping trips to Erie, and going out to breakfast after work. She will be sadly missed.
Louie and family, I am so sorry to hear about Gerri. I really enjoyed talking with her when I got the chance. I knew that she was the greatest wife, mom and grandmother by her ways. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
So sorry for your loss. Gerri was a beautiful person. I worked with her at Sylvania and I went to school with her son, Gibby. Prayers are with you.

Gerri was the best. I always enjoyed running into her. It was especially nice to have a visit/chat with her. If you had the chance to talk to her, you always walked away with a smile. My heart is with her family.
