Florentino J. "Tino" Cesa | 94

June 15, 1930 - January 8, 2025

Florentino J. “Tino” Cesa, 94, of Upper Cherry Road, Kersey, passed away surrounded by his loving wife and children Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Penn Highlands Elk.

He was born June 15, 1930 at home in Coal Hollow, son of the late Santo and Antonia Grioletta Cesa.  Tino was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Kersey schools.  He was employed by Stackpole Carbon Company where he retired after forty-one years of service to the company.

On May 15, 1954, in St. Ann’s Church in Millvale, Tino married Audrey E. Anthony, who survives.  They were blessed to share seventy years of marriage.

In addition to his loving wife, Tino is survived by five children: Christina Hudson of Fairfield, PA, Joseph Cesa of Kersey, Sharon Rooker of Ridgway, Edward Cesa (June) of Mount Morris, PA, and John Cesa (Tracy) of Kersey; a special daughter-in-law, Colleen Cesa; twenty grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Rita
Tamburlin (Dodo) and Katherine Puchan (John); his brother, John Cesa; a granddaughter, Tonya Cesa; and son-in-law, John G. Hudson.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Tino was a faithful member of St. Boniface Church and a member of the American Legion for sixty years.  He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict.  He was a skilled painter, painting many area homes.  He also enjoyed the trade of woodworking and shared this talent in helping his children build their homes.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, of which he spent countless hours enjoying and teaching his children and grandchildren.  Tino is truly the last Mohican of the original Zani Camp Crew and the South Kersey Woods where he left his legacy.  He was a great wild game chef and had a green thumb with his amazing flowers and garden.  He enjoyed watching his grandchildren at their sporting events and sitting on his swing in the backyard under the apple tree.  He cherished each moment with family and neighbors sharing many conversations under that apple tree.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Boniface Church on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 11:00AM with Rev. Kevin Holland, Pastor, celebrating.  Full military rites will be accorded by the Fox Township Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation will be held in Kersey at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home located at 371 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846 on Monday, January 13, 2025 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM.
