Evelyn J. Sicheri, 86, of 144 Teaberry Road, St. Marys, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023 at Elk Haven Nursing Home, following a brief illness.
She was born April 29, 1937 in Dagus Mines, daughter of the late Etalo and Mary Canton Mattiuz. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1955. She was employed at Stackpole Carbon for 36 years and retired from Penn Metal Stamping.
On June 6, 1959, in St. Boniface Church, she married Frank Sicheri, who preceded her in death on March 23, 2022.
Evelyn is survived by three sons: David Sicheri (Mary) of St. Marys, Mark Sicheri (Lori) of Kersey, and Ken Sicheri (Barb) of St. Marys; six grandchildren: Adam Sicheri (Samantha), Eric Sicheri (Courtney), Cassidy Huntsman (Joe), Ayana Sicheri, Brandon Sicheri, and Sabella Sicheri; three great-grandchildren: Brooke, Jordan, and Parker; two sisters: Bernetta Greenthaner of Kersey and Jean Bille (Dale) of St. Marys; two brothers: Ron Mattiuz (Cindy) of St. Marys and Bob Mattiuz (Aileen) of Kersey; and by many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Queen of the World Church and appreciated all that life had to offer. She enjoyed cooking and picnics at camp. She took tremendous pride in her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM, in the Queen of the World Church, with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Elk Haven Nursing Home Memorial Fund, 785 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.

She was such a sweet lady. I know we talked a lot everyday. I will miss her that’s for sure. Prayers and love sent to all the family and friends.
