Ellen M. Schloder | 72

September 7, 1951 - September 21, 2023

Ellen M. Schloder, 72, of 172 Cross Road, St. Marys, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023, at her residence.

She was born September 7, 1951, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Paul and Creta Jackson Manning. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School. Ellen was a manager of the former Ames, Uni-Mart, and most recently Fuel On.

On May 2, 1968, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ellen married Theodore “Ted” Schloder, who preceded her in death on January 16, 2013. They were blessed to share 44 years of marriage.

Ellen is survived by her daughter, Ann Schloder of St. Marys; four grandchildren: Derrick Schloder (Brittany Glatt), Nathan Parana, Jodi Parana, and Susan Decker; seven great-grandchildren: Akira Schloder, Summer Pfaff, Kiarra Miller, Aaliyah Parana, Jaxson Parana, Christian Parana, Evan Parana, and Bentley Parana; two brothers: Paul Manning (Joan) of St. Marys and Bruce Manning (Lora) of Kersey; and by her brother-in-law, Tim Schloder of St. Marys.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her sister, Karen McClain.

Ellen loved and accepted everyone and was deeply loved in return. She will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

  2. Ellen was the sweetest woman. I will always remember chatting it up with her at Fuel On. Rest in peace and Fly high, knowing that you are loved.

  3. A sweet and kind soul. She’s been selling me my morning coffee since she worked at Magic Market 20+ years ago. Fuel On isn’t the same without her. I always appreciated her warm welcome and the friendly interactions she had with all the customers. Didn’t know her well but my instincts tell me she was a really good person.
