Donna M. Herbstritt | 75

July 23, 1948 - November 3, 2023

Donna M Herbstritt, 75, of 1464 Rosely Road, St. Marys passed away after a lengthy illness, Friday, November 3, 2023, at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born July 23, 1948, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Francis “Tootie” and Louise “Lucille” Hanes Meyer.

On November 18, 1967 in Queen of the World Church, she married Dennis L Herbstritt, who survives.

Donna was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School. Over the years, she worked and was part owner of Country Mountain Amusements. She enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing, taking month long trips out west, spending time in the woods with family and friends, playing cards, and going to the casino. 

In addition to her husband of more than 55 years, she is survived by two daughters: Denise Herbstritt (Adam) of St. Marys and Doreen Ginther (George) of Kersey; two sons: Dennis Herbstritt, Jr. (Jackie) of St. Marys and Duane Herbstritt (Veronica) of St. Marys; her grandchildren:  Ashley Urbancic (Adam), Jared Herbstritt, Mindy Boroi (Brandon), Rachel Farabaugh, Jesse Rhines, Michael Stefano (Ashlee), Melissa Craig, Brad Ginther, Brittany Chaffee (Jacob), Brian Ginther (Sara) and Wyatt Ginther; seven great-grandchildren: Dominick, Brayden, Franceska, Alexa, Angelina, Isabella and Michael.  She is also survived by three brothers: Louis Meyer (Audrey), David Meyer, and Howard Meyer (Annette), all of St. Marys; two sisters: June Anderson of Kersey and Pam Pierotti (Jack) of St. Marys; sisters-in-law, Linda Meyer, Ann Herzing (Dick), and Jane Williams (Fran), all of St. Marys; a brother-in-law, Donald Guido of St. Marys; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Monica Felton and Elizabeth “Betty” Guido; one brother, Carl “Midge” Meyer; brothers-in-law: William “Bill” Felton and Alan Herbstritt; her mother and father-in-law, Mary Rita and Walter Herbstritt; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Meyer; and a brother-in-law, Stanley Anderson.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 10:00AM with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial donations, if desired may be made to Dennis Herbstritt, Jr. at 118 Elk Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 to help with travel expenses for Dominick’s 3+ year journey or Penn Highlands Community Nurses Memorial Fund, 757 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.
