Arthur A. Andres | 96

Arthur A. Andres, 96, of 406 Chestnut Street, St. Marys, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Pinecrest Manor, after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 12, 1925, in St. Marys, son of the late Michael and Catherine Haberberger Andres. Art was a lifelong resident of the area, was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1943, and also attended the Purdue Naval Academy. He was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company, retiring in 1985, after 42 years of service.

On July 8, 1950, in the Sacred Heart Church, Art married Louise M. Schaut, who preceded him in death on December 10, 2014.

He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Marconi and her husband Stephen of Daguscahonda; two sons: Robert Andres at home and Brian Andres of London, OH; and by four grandchildren: Theresa Marconi (Matthew Wilson), Michael Marconi, Melinda Marconi, and Nicholas Marconi.

In addition to his wife and parents, Art was preceded in death by his sister, Marlene Andres; and by his brother, Clarence Andres. He was the last member of his immediate family.

Art was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. He was also a member of the Quarter Century Club of Stackpole Carbon.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Thomas Curry, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
