Shannon N. Mecca

Shannon N. Mecca, 30, of 128 North St. Marys Street, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at her residence.

She was born January 27, 1982 in Miami, FL.  She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of the St. Marys Area High School, Class of 2001.

She is survived by her father, Duane O. Mecca and her stepmother, Marlene Mecca of Mount Pleasant, SC; and by her mother, Eileen Cook Mecca and her stepfather, Terry Gabor of St. Marys.  Also surviving are two sisters, Carisa Mecca of Weedville and Teresa Elmquist (Jared) of Johnsonburg; one brother, Raymond P. Kunes of St. Marys; and a stepsister, Angela Songer of Emporium.  She is also survived by her maternal grandfather, Raymond Cook of Treasure Lake; and two nephews, Riley and Ronan.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 2:00 PM followed by the service at 3:00 PM at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home.

Donations can be made to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 East Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.

Me n shannon grew up 2gether and we both went our separate ways in life n I haven’t seen her in the past year but my heart still bleeds 4 her and my deepest thoughts and prayers are with you…she was a very awesome women..this shouldn’t of happened..

Ill never forget the coolest babysitter I ever had. she showed me icp. This should never have happened to her she was way too good of a person to everybody. Ill pray for your family and miss you.

I am so so sorry to read of Shannon. She was such a sweet little girl and have seen her recently throughout town and could not believe she remembered me! She was so kind and funny when we talked. Know my prayers and thoughts are with you all.

The news of Shannon’s passing deeply saddens me. We went to school together and have stayed in contact ever since. She was such an amazing individual and friend. She will truely be missed…So sorry for your loss!

So sorry for your loss…..I thought Shannon was so happy to find a place to live (when she left here at the Elk Co. Housing Authority) where she could have her dog live with her….she was quite a girl and I am sure she will be missed…..It was nice to have known her.
