Daniel R. Bricen

Daniel R. Bricen, 83, of 126 Sunrise Road, St. Marys, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Pinecrest Manor, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Dan was born January 21, 1935, in Weedville, son of the late Thomas and Agnes Gardner Bricen. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Weedville Schools.  Dan was a retired employee of PennDOT, retiring in 1994 with over 25 years of service.

On May 25, 1955, in the Sacred Heart Church, Dan married Phyllis M. Seelye, who survives. He is also survived by four daughters, Dana Kegerreis (Charles) of Honeybrook, PA, Darcy Fedorko (James) of St. Marys, Danielle Mangene (Scott) of Boalsburg, PA, and Dawn Bricen LaMorte of Ithaca, NY; a son, Dan Bricen (Patrice) of Riverton, UT; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and by a sister, Vernice Paoella of Philadelphia.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Bricen; two sisters, June Snyder and Minnie Jean Lander; and by three brothers, Louis, Thomas, and Cornelius “Jack” Bricen.

Dan was a member of the Queen of the World Church and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed the outdoors, going to camp and hunting, and working in his garage.  Most of all, Dan loved his wife and his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Jeff Noble, Pastor, officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday morning, from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857; the Community Nurses, Inc., 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, PA  15857; or to Pinecrest Manor, 763 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA  15857.

Phyllis, Dana, Danny, Darcy, Danielle, Dawn and families,
I’m so very sorry for your loss. Please accept condolences on behalf of my family – Joe, Anita and Crystal.
Danny was always a good neighbor and will be remembered fondly. Whenever I walk past his garage, I have fond memories of Dan always tinkering with something. 🙂
May he rest in eternal peace.

Dear Aunt Phyl, Dana, Danny, Darcy, Danielle, Dawn and families. It saddens my heart to hear of Uncle Dan’s passing. I have such fond memories of him.

Dear Aunt Phyllis, Danny, Dana, Darcy, Danielle and Dawn,
Rich and I are so sorry to hear of Uncle Danny passing.
I always loved visiting with him. He had sparkling vibrant blue eyes, and a winning smile and always a good story to tell. I will always remember these and his big hugs. Rich loved to visit, as well, and talk about the Navy.

I was saddened to just now hear of Dan’s passing. My condolences to his family. I worked with Dan for many years at PennDOT and he was always such a joy to work with and be around.
