Walter H. Stauffer

Walter H. Stauffer, 80, of 117 Teaberry Road, St. Marys, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018, at the Elk Haven Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness.

He was born September 21, 1938, in Reynoldsville, PA, son of the late William and Mary Stauffer. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Reynoldsville High School.  Wally was a retired employee of SGL Carbon, retiring with over 25 years of service.

On June 30, 1978, in St. Marys, Wally married Sylvia M. Schauer, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Walter Stauffer, Jr. and his wife Karen of St. Marys; a step daughter, Lisa VanAlstine and her husband Charles of St. Marys; four grandchildren; three great granddaughters; and by two sisters, Ruth Stauffer and Ethel Painter, both of Punxsutawney.

In addition to his parents, Wally was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Pontious in 2017; a step son, Jeffrey Lamb in 2015; and by several brothers and sisters.

Wally was a veteran of the United States Army and was a 50 year member of the Crystal Fire Department. He enjoyed bowling and fishing.

There will be no visitation.

A Funeral Service will be held at a later date to be announced.
