Elizabeth J. “Betty” Wagner

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Wagner, 75, formerly of 421 Washington Street, St. Marys, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, with her family at her bedside, after a brief illness.

She was born September 2, 1943, in Maryland, daughter of the late Harold and Marie Steele Grosser. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Kersey Schools.  Betty was a retired employee of the Keystone Carbon Company, retiring in 2005, after 36 years of service.

On April 20, 1963, in the St. Boniface Church, Betty married Charles D. “Bud” Wagner, who preceded her in death on June 20, 2012.

She is survived by two daughters, Kim Hoffman and her husband Gary and Lisa Dezanet and her husband Vic, both of St. Marys; a son, Jeff Wagner and his fiancée Dawn Melillo of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Daryl “D. J.” Hoffman, Dillon Hoffman, Brooke Wagner, Jeffrey Wagner, Tori Dezanet, and Cole Dezanet; and by a cousin, Larry Steele of Virginia.

Betty was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the St. Marys Moose. She was an avid dog lover, and she enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends, playing Bingo, and her trips to the Casino.  She also enjoyed cooking and baking, and she always had plenty for all to share.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Michael Gabler, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday, October 15, 2018, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday morning, from 10:00 until 10:30 AM.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 East Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.
