Helen M. Luchini

Helen M. Luchini, 88, of 218 South Kersey Road, Kersey, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018, at her residence, after a lengthy illness.

She was born October 5, 1930, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Charles and Emma Anzinger Frey. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Schools.  Helen was the owner of Twin Oaks Ceramics for many years and would demonstrate how to make ceramics in the schools and around the area.

On May 18, 1948, in the St. Mary’s Church, Helen married Francis G. Luchini, who preceded her in death on June 23, 1978.

She is survived by three daughters, Lucy Beimel and her husband Roger of Kersey, Janet Luchini of Kersey, and Christine Koss and her husband Lee of Kersey; 16 grandchildren, John Beimel (Trisha), Jesse Beimel (Adrienne), Joshua Beimel (Colleen), Scott Chelgreen (Jeanine), Bryan Drobney, Paul Drobney (Missy), Mary Jo Laird (Jim), Michelle Hamilton (Jeff), Jason Luchini (Emily), Jennifer Gerber (Jeff), Eric Leathers (Melissa), Kelly Leathers, Corey Koss, Nathan Koss, Benjamin Koss, and Jacob Koss; and by 26 great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister Bernice Bauer and her husband Peter of St. Marys; a brother, Maurice Frey and his wife Ann of St. Marys; and two daughters-in-law, JoAnn Luchini and Joan Luchini, both of Weedville.

In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Drobney; two sons, Daniel Luchini and Gerald Luchini; a sister, Ruth Scolari; and by four brothers, Robert Farley, Norbert Frey, and twins, Norman and Roman Frey.

Helen was a member of the St. Boniface Church and the Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the Fox Township Senior Center and the Fox Township Lioness Club, and she enjoyed being with her family.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
