Anna Mae Pelgrin

Anna Mae Pelgrin, 91, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 230 Evers Avenue, St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Elk Haven, after a brief illness.

She was born May 6, 1927, in St. Marys, the oldest daughter of George and Anna Woelfel Hasselman. Anna was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys Schools.  She held many jobs throughout her lifetime with the most recent being a cook and baker at the Sacred Heart School cafeteria.

On February 12, 1946, in the Sacred Heart Church, Anna married Robert M. Pelgrin, who preceded her in death on October 7, 1999.

She is survived by three daughters, Bonnie (Frank) Paglia of Imperial, Gloria (Robert) Glatt of Monroeville, and Nancy (George) Breindel of The Villages, FL; a son, Jack (Jolene) Pelgrin of Kersey; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Arlene (Phil) Regulski of Ridgway; a brother, LeRoy “Tubby” Hasselman of St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Vicky Nussbaum of St. Marys; and by a son-in-law, Gary Johnson of Kane.

In addition to her husband and parents, Anna was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Johnson; a grandson, Bobby; and by three brothers, Richard Hasselman, Jerome “Jump” Hasselman, and George “Boogie” Hasselman.

Anna was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, eating out, and especially spending time with her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Michael Gabler, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday morning from 8:30 until 9:30 AM.
