Norman F. Feidler

Norman F. Feidler, 89, formerly of 602 South Michael Street, St. Marys, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the Elk Haven Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness.

He was born September 6, 1928, in Kersey, son of the late Chauncey and Theresa Schaffman Feidler. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Kersey schools.  Norman was a retired employee from Sylvania, retiring in 1985.

On February 27, 1960, in the Queen of the World Church in St. Marys, Norman married Shirley D. Detsch, who survives.

He is also survived by one daughter, Lisa Leidwinger (Gary) of St. Marys; two sons, Anthony Feidler (Lisa) of Kersey and Kimberly Feidler (Cindy) of St. Marys; three grandchildren, Eric Leidwinger, Nathan Leidwinger, and Lucas Feidler; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin Leidwinger, Sydney Leidwinger, and Addyson Leidwinger; and one brother, Jerome Feidler (Joyce) of St. Marys.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by four sisters: Martha Minechelli, Dorothy Knouse, Helen Feidler, and Esther Glance; and by five brothers: James Feidler, Robert Feidler, Richard Feidler, Clarence Feidler, and Leonard Feidler.

Norman was a member of Queen of the World Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.  He loved to play Bingo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Queen of the World Church on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Jeff Noble, Pastor, officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Sunday, July 22, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.

With the loss of someone you love it can be hard to heal. The short stay at Elk Haven, I’ve seen a very nurturing family. I have no doubt he is looking down with a clear mind and thankful for all of you.

Sorry for your loss. I used to enjoy playing Bingo with Norman. He will be missed.
