My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the family of “Smokey” Gausman. When we were re-starting the Elk County Civil Air Patrol Squadron just a few years ago, “Alfred” was a Key part of that start-up. As Commander of the squadron at that time, I came to know Lt Gausman as a dedicated family man and an honorable man. He believed in and exemplified Civil Air Patrol’s Core Values of Volunteerism, Excellence In All We Do, Respect and Integrity. Alfred, you will be missed.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Smokey but I wish I had the opportunity. All my prayers for solace and healing.
