Esther R. Keller

Esther R. Keller, 87, of 320 Mohan Run Road, Ridgway, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017, at the DuBois Nursing Home, after a brief illness.

She was born March 27, 1930, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Fred and Sarah Wolfe Eckert. She was a lifelong resident of the area, was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1948, and was also a 1976 graduate of the DuBois Business College.  Esther was a former employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company and Sylvania in Emporium.

On October 2, 1948, in the St. Mary’s Church, Esther married Jacob Conrad Keller, who preceded her in death on August 8, 2003.

She is survived by three daughters, Theresa Donachy and her husband Thomas of St. Marys, Delores Keech and her husband Robert of Kersey, and Lorraine S. Gearheart and her husband Mark of Luthersburg; three sons, Robert L. Keller and his wife Diane of Weedville, Richard Paul Keller of Denton, NC, and Arthur J. Keller and his wife Lori of Reynoldsville; 19 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great, great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Virginia Murphy and her husband Robert of Ridgway, Faith Dankmeyer of Pennsylvania, and Victoria Duncan of Washington State; and by six brothers, Jerome Eckert of Galeton, Michael Eckert of Saegertown, Patrick Eckert and his wife Angeline of Ridgway, Peter Eckert and his wife Marge of Maryland, Ronald Eckert and his wife Melissa of Sequin, TX, and Arthur Eckert and his wife Bonnie of Austin, PA.

In addition to her husband and parents, Esther was preceded in death by a son, David Arthur Keller in infancy on July 4, 1960; a sister, Margaret “Peggy” Krug; and by two brothers, Alphonse and Raphael Eckert.

Esther was a member of St. Leo’s Church. She enjoyed restoring and redoing religious statues at no charge.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Monday, August 28, 2017, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Sunday, August 27, 2017, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
