Mary Jane Wickett

Mary Jane Wickett, 93, of 114 Edward Road, St. Marys, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017, at Pinecrest Manor, after a lengthy illness.

She was born December 10, 1923, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Joseph and Marian Weidenboerner Breindel. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1941.  Mary Jane was a former employee of the Speer Carbon Company and was a member of the St. Mary’s Church.

On October 7, 1947, in the St. Mary’s Church, Mary Jane married Clarence J. Wickett, who survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Jane Wickett of Cary, NC and Joan Fabiano and her husband Donald of Ridgway; two sons, James Wickett and his wife Lucy of Belleville, IL and John Wickett of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and by numerous wonderful nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerome and Paul Breindel. She was the last member of her immediate family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, from 9:30 until 10:30 AM.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Mary’s Church, 325 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 or to the Elk County Catholic High School, Advancement Office, 600 Maurus Street, St. Marys, PA  15857.

I knew Mary Jane very well as she was my husband’s cousin and grew up with the family next door. They shared many stories about their childhood. We were involved with many social activities. She was a very special person and now she is at peace with the Lord. Delores Frey
