Gilbert R. Stauffer

Gilbert R. Stauffer, 71, of 261 Louis Street, St. Marys, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at his residence, after a brief illness.

He was born February 16, 1946, in St. Marys, son of the late Robert R. Stauffer, who preceded him in death, and Dorothy Gahr Stauffer, who survives of Pinecrest Manor. He was a former resident of Arizona and California, returning to St. Marys in 2010.  Gilbert was a graduate of Elk County Catholic High School, Class of 1963 and was a graduate of Engineering School in Pittsburgh.  He was a retired employee of Lockheed-Martin in California where he worked as an engineer.  He was also a former employee of Intel and Motorola.

On September 14, 1968, in St. Mark’s Church in Emporium, he married Edith M. Kriner, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Denise D’Aloia and her husband, Dan, of Chicago, IL and Susan Warren of St. Marys; three grandchildren, Gianna D’Aloia of Chicago, Vincent D’Aloia of Chicago, and Mackenzie Warren of New Brunswick, Canada.

Gilbert was a veteran of the United States Army and he enjoyed going to the casinos in Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Community Nurses, Inc., Hospice, 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, PA 15857.

So sorry to hear of Gibb’s passing. He was a kind and gentle soul. Heaven has gained a new angel to watch over you all.

Edith, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Gilbert. Always enjoyed talking to him, when I would see him in Walmart. He will be missed but never forgotten. May He R.I.P.

What a guy…..always smiling, always ready with a joke, always ready to give a helping hand. He was a special friend. So many wonderful memories. We will miss his funny phone calls. So, so sorry Edie.
