David L. DeLullo, Sr.

David L. DeLullo, Sr., 84, of 814 Silver Creek Road, St. Marys, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, after a lengthy illness.

He was born January 18, 1933, in Force, son of the late Charles and Pearl Berti DeLullo. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Weedville Schools.  David was a retired self-employed owner of several businesses.

On April 18, 1953, in St. Leo’s Church in Ridgway, David married Diane G. Liptak, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Diane Krise and her husband Michael and Susan Leithner and her husband Kenneth, both of St. Marys; seven sons, David L. DeLullo, Jr. and his wife Sara of St. Marys, John C. DeLullo and his wife Susan of Weedville, James M. DeLullo and his wife Laura of St. Marys, Richard S. DeLullo and his wife Linda of St. Marys, Michael J. DeLullo and his wife Jodi of St. Marys, Robert P. DeLullo and his wife Julie of St. Marys, and Charles W. DeLullo and his wife Shelly of St. Marys; 29 grandchildren; and by 29 great grandchildren.  Also surviving are two sisters, Ermont Herzing of St. Marys and Margaret “Peggy” Guido and her husband Anthony of DuBois.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by one grandson, John Alexander DeLullo, who passed away in infancy in 1985; five sisters, Esther Saputo, Josephine Ford, Aileen DeLullo, Veronica Dobson, and Rose Maholtz; and by three brothers, Pat, Daniel, and Louis DeLullo.

David was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and was a veteran of the US Navy, having served in the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

There will be no visitation.

Due to renovations at the Sacred Heart Church, family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, July 8, 2017, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, at 1:00 PM. Burial is in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity.
