Helen A. Mattivi

Helen A. Mattivi, 79, of 108 David Street, Kersey, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at her residence, after an illness of the past several months.

She was born February 24, 1938, in Kersey, daughter of the late Francis and Catherine Bobenrieth Dollinger. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1957.  She was a retired employee of Metaldyne in Ridgway and had also worked at St. Marys Pressed Metals.

On July 13, 1963, in the St. Boniface Church, Helen married Raymond F. Mattivi, who preceded her in death on November 10, 2015.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Jeffrey Mattivi and his wife Rhonda of North Glenn, CO, Kenneth Mattivi and his wife Rhonda of Kersey, Debra May and her husband Dale Jr. of Toby, and Paula Tamburlin and her husband Jack of Toby; four grandsons, Jacob Mattivi, Zachary Mattivi, Wesley Mattivi, and Kory Mattivi; two step grandchildren, Roni Sherman and William Anderson; two step great grandchildren, Emma Samick and Dylan Samick; a sister, Alice Kugler and her husband Bud of Kersey; and by a brother, Charles “Chubb” Dollinger and his wife Alice of Kersey.

In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in death by two brothers, Willis “Winky” Dollinger and James “Paddle” Dollinger.

Helen was a member of the St. Boniface Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to Salamanca and to camp, and she especially enjoyed humor and bringing a smile to people’s faces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 10:30 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation is at the St. Boniface Church on Thursday morning, from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Community Nurses, Inc., Hospice, 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, PA 15857; the Fox Township Volunteer Fire Department, 381 Main Street, Kersey, PA  15846; or to the Hahne Regional Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA  15801.

Debbie, Kenny, Paula and Jeff – It is with a heavy heart that I send condolences to you all. Although I know she is finally in heaven with your Dad, I know how much you all are suffering.
