Joseph J. Holjencin

Joseph HoljencinJoseph J. Holjencin, 81, of 251 Taft Road, St. Marys, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016, at UPMC Altoona Hospital, after a brief illness.

He was born December 22, 1934, in Byrnedale, PA, son of the late Stephen and Catherine Murgash Holjencin. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of BCI High School in Coalport and Williamsport Technical School.  He was a founding partner of Windfall Products, retiring in 1999.

On May 21, 1955, in St. Basil’s Church in Coalport, he married Joan M. Cusick, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Terri Holjencin Becker and her husband Mark Becker of Brockway and JoAnne Ryan and her husband David of St. Marys; two sons, Larry Holjencin and his wife Julie of Canon City, CO and Michael Holjencin of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Keith Holjencin, Kristy Holjencin, Brittany Wilhelm, Ashley Weyant, Veronica Holjencin, and Nicole Burton; six great grandchildren, Noah, Isabella, Charlotte, Madison, Gavin, and Levi; and a sister, Mary Gahr and her husband Joseph of Kersey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, John Holjencin, Steve Holjencin, Robert Holjencin, Richard Holjencin, Thomas Holjencin, and William Holjencin.

Mr. Holjencin was a member of the Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his many trips to Florida.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Holy Rosary Church on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. David Wilson, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday evening, January 25, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

I am very sorry for your loss. Jesus said, “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear His voice and come out,…” (John 5:28-29) My prayers are with you that His promise of a resurrection will comfort you. May wonderful memories also help you through this difficult time.
