Constance A. Villella

Constance VillellaConstance A. Villella, 70, of St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, December 11, 2015, at Penn Highlands Elk.

She was born October 22, 1945, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Harold and Margaret Brehm O’Hern. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1963.  She was a retired employee of Metaldyne.  She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and was a volunteer at the Benedictine Gift Shop.

She was married to Eugene Villella, who survives of St. Marys. She is survived by three daughters, Laura Neely and her husband Sam of Mechanicsburg, PA, Cindi VanSlander and her husband D.J. of St. Marys, and Susan Gordon of Apollo Beach, FL; a son, David A. Villella and his wife Nicole of St. Marys; and 14 grandchildren, Nick Neely, Andrea Neely, Ryan Neely, Will VanSlander, Gina VanSlander, Alaina VanSlander, Jaxon VanSlander, Madeline Gordon, Katherine Gordon, Emily Gordon, Allison Rabe, Derek Villella, Ava Villella, and Brice Villella.  Also surviving are four sisters, Jerilynn Tramack and her husband David of Nashua, NH, twin sisters, Margaret Billott and her husband Larry of St. Marys and Louise Kline and her husband Tom of St. Marys, and Imelda Buttery-Newell of Oxford, PA; and a brother, Brian O’Hern and his wife Carol of Shirley, MA.

Constance was a loving mother of four children and grandmother of 14 grandchildren. She was thrilled to see her first grandchild start college this year and to witness the birth of her 14th grandchild this year. She was so proud of all her grandkids and spent most of her time babysitting, watching baseball and football games, watching dance recitals, chorus and gymnastic events. She was one busy grandmother and rarely missed an event.  She also found time to visit Florida and to see her little grandchildren there. She loved spending time in the sun and enjoying the beach.  Traveling was one of her favorite things to do.  Her family kept her busy until God decided to call her home. Her children will remember her as a selfless, strong, and hard-working mother who devoted her life to making a warm and loving home filled with memories that they will always cherish. We will miss our mom and Grammy very much.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Monday, December 14, 2015, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 East Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.
