Rosemary Breindel

Rosemary BreindelRosemary Breindel, 88, of Ashaway, RI, and formerly of 523 School Street, St.Marys, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI.

She was born March 2, 1927 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Henry and Mary Elizabeth Gradl Hoehn.  She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1945.  She was a former employee of the St. Marys Carbon Company.

On November 17, 1951, in the St. Mary’s Church, she married Paul L. Breindel, who preceded her in death on March 5, 2001.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Beth Rollick and her husband Kevin of Munroe Falls, OH, Christine Eiva and her husband Saul of Ashaway, RI, and Anne Marie Warner and her husband LeRoy William of West Lafayette, IN; six grandchildren, Kathleen Rollick, Anne Rollick, Johnathan Eiva, Michael Eiva, Elizabeth Eiva, and Christy Warner; and one sister, Sarah Bon and her husband Alphonse of St. Marys.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Hoehn; and two brothers, Gilbert Hoehn and Hank Hoehn.

Mrs. Breindel was a member of the St. Mary’s Church, where she was a member of the church choir and served as a Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, and Lector.  She was a fifty-year member of the Benedictine Oblates; a member of the St. Mary’s Church Altar Society, the St. Mary’s Church Rosary Group; the Columbian Club, and the Catholic Daughters of America.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Alfred Patterson, Pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Mary’s Church, 325 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.

I have fond memories of Rosemary (“Mrs. Breindel”) coming out to our house many times when she was singing with Mom ~ I can’t remember the name of the group but I definitely remember the ladies! She was always so kind. I know those ladies are all together again, singing and laughing in Heaven.
