Irma L. Catalone

Irma CataloneIrma L. Catalone, 89, of Silver Creek Terrace, and formerly of 403 South Michael Street, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, at the Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.

She was born November 14, 1925 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Michael H. and Barbara A. Schreiber Wolf.  She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1943.  She was a retired employee of the Dickinson Mental Health Center, retiring in 1987 after 13 years of service.

On April 12, 1947, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Albert C. Catalone, who preceded her in death in 1982.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara “Polly” Stevenson and her husband Roy of South Hampton, NY and Denise G. Dietrich and her husband Rex of Port Orange, FL; two sons, James A. Catalone and his wife Bernadine of Kersey and Gregory M. Catalone of Kersey; four grandchildren, Curt Catalone, Eric Catalone, Alexandra Stevenson, and Claire Stevenson; and five great grandchildren, Olivia Catalone, Isabella Catalone, Andrea Catalone, Alexia Catalone, and Warren Dietrich.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Sestina and Virginia Hoffman Stebick.  She was the last member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Catalone was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the Altar Society of the St. Mary’s Church.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Friday, April 17, 2015, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB and Rev. Daniel Wolfel, OSB as concelebrants.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Hahne Regional Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA  15801 or to the Community Nurses, Inc., 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, PA  15857.
