Bonita A. “Bonnie” Morelli

Bonita MorelliBonita A. “Bonnie” Morelli, 59, of 346 South Kersey Road, Kersey, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at her home after a long and valiant fight with cancer.

She was born July 16, 1954 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Silvio and Onorina DeCecchis Cesa.  She was a lifelong resident of the area, was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1972, and was a 1980 graduate of Jeff Tech Nursing School.  She had been an employee of Sylvania, Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital, the Ridgway Hospital, the former Family Planning Center in Ridgway, and was a nurse for the St. Marys Area School District.

On April 30, 1988 in Ridgway, she married Arthur M. Morelli, who survives.  She is also survived by three sisters, Patricia Reid and her husband Fred of Wilcox, Sylvia Huey of Kersey, and Candeda Hoffman and her husband Tim of St. Marys; two brothers, Michael Cesa of Kersey and William Cesa and his wife Kim of DuBois; and by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Bauer.

Mrs. Morelli was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, the Horton Twp. Sportsmen’s Club, the Dagus Mines American Legion, and was a Fox Twp. Lioness.  She enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles, camping, riding motorcycles, gardening, and her dogs.

Due to the renovation of the St. Boniface Church, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Leo’s Church in Ridgway on Friday, February 7, 2014, at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Brian Vossler, Pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday evening (2/6/2014) from 6:00 till 8:00 PM.

Memorials, if desired may be made to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 East Eschbach Road, St. Marys, or to the Community Nurses, Inc., Hospice, 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, PA  15857.

My Dear Candy & all Family members,
Having spent time at your house when we were little, remembering Bonnie as “Your pretty Little Sister”. Knowing her thru many years of the trials she endured in her life, overcoming a very bad accident & then having this most haunting illness that also took your sister Anita. I am truly sorry for your “losses” Candy & I hope you know that “Bonnie” is now in a much better place. May she rest in peace now with your parents & sister Anita. My deepest sympathy to Bonnie’s family. I remember her before her accident, and when I checked into Facebook was so glad to find she was the same sweet person and was happy.
Just so sad she passed away at such a young age.
