Alice M. Fleming

Alice M. Fleming, 87, of Silver Creek Terrace, and formerly of 838 South Michael Road, St. Marys, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born June 9, 1926 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Michael and Esther Haberberger Baumer.  She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.

On April 19, 1947 in the St. Mary’s Church, she married Richard N. Fleming, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2012.

She is survived by two daughters, Lois Sadley and her husband Richard L. of St. Marys, and Mary Gerg and her husband Douglas A. of St. Marys; a son, Brian Fleming and his wife Mary Pat of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Angela (Ed) Long, Joseph (Kelly Jo) Sadley, Isaac Gerg, Ian Gerg, Alissa Fleming, and Jessica Fleming; and three great grandchildren, Cecilia Long, Maxwell Long, and Anna Sadley.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by twin daughters, Yvonne and Yvette Fleming in infancy; five sisters, Helene Baumer, Margaret Detsch, and in infancy, Caroline, Alice, and Marion Baumer; and six brothers, James Baumer, Andrew Baumer, Henry Baumer, Lawrence Baumer, George Baumer, and in infancy, Frederick Baumer.  She was the last member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Fleming was a member of the Queen of the World Church.  She was a kind, loving, and selfless person, always putting everyone else’s needs before her own.  She always made everyone laugh and she will be greatly missed.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Thomas More Sikora, OSB, officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Silver Creek Terrace, 791 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA  15857, or to the Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA  15857.
