I am a former SAIC employee, based in Pittsburgh, PA, who worked with Sophia, mostly via telephone, on the SMA Project and various proposals. We would give each other hugs every time I visited the Frederick office. It was an honor to know her and to hear about her accomplishments throughout the years, especially completion of her graduate degree, for which she worked so hard. My condolences to you all on the unexpected loss of a such a special person. May her memory be a blessing.

Sophia was a great person with a wonderful smile. I worked with Sophia for many years at SAIC. She taught me a lot and was a great coworker as well as a great friend. Enjoyed spending time with her. She loved the roller coasters as much as I did. Sophia will truly be missed. She is always in my thoughts and prayers.

I had the good fortune to work with Sophia from 2007 thru 2010 at SAIC. Sophia was my supervisor for the past several years at SAIC and it was great working with her. She was very supportive and always had a great attitude. She played a very key role in my returning to college to pursue my BA. I could never thank her for all that she has done for me over the years. In reading through the condolences that others have written it is plain to see that she touched many people in the way that she touched me and my life. I truly miss her and will think of her often. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and all of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Chuck Mitman February 1, 2013 at 4:00 pm

We knew Sophia for these last years, first as a customer but her spirit and enthusiasm quickly changed the relationship to one of warmth and fun. She was a consummate professional while at the same time her upbeat and dynamic personality made her a joy to work with and we all are grateful to have known her. We at Prism have been universally hard hit by this news and we offer our sincere condolences to her family and co workers in this difficult time. We are still in shock and send our prayers from afar for Sophia who had such a great heart and always a smile for us.
