Marguerite E. “Betty” Frank

Marguerite E. “Betty” Frank, 92, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Lynch Road, St. Marys, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 at Elk Haven.

She was born June 21, 1920 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Charles and Helena Kuellertz Ambuske.  She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1938.  She was a retired employee of Speer Carbon and was an employee of the former G. C. Murphy Co.

On April 7, 1945 in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Raymond B. “Goona” Frank who preceded her in death on September 24, 1996.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Rebecca “Becky” Frank in 2010, two sisters, Dorothy Geitner and Helen Timm; and a brother, Charles Ambuske.  She was the last member of her immediate family.

Betty was a good and gentle mother.  During her full life she made many friends.  She enjoyed life; a smile and greeting for everyone she met.  Her first love was dancing, family card games, bingo, she was an avid reader and she enjoyed getting together with family on Sundays.  Her love of life will be missed by many.  Betty was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Elk County Catholic High School Alumni.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Thomas More Sikora, OSB officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

All the years we kids grew up together, I always admired your mother Betty. She was so calm, gentle, loving, happy, just a beautiful lady. How fortunate you were to have her. And she still lives in your heart where she held you all of her life here on earth. Heaven has gained a beautiful Angel. My deepest sympathy and many prayers for all. God Bless you.

To All the Franks ~

Because of a mis-communication, some of us didn’t get the message of Aunt Betty’s passing until the morning of her funeral mass. I am so sorry that we could not be there to support you as you have done for us. Speaking for all of us, our love and prayers go out to each of you. Aunt Betty loved life, but she especially loved each of you. I pray that God’s comfort will carry you through this time.
Love,
Patty

We were informed of Betty’s passing while we were in Utah visiting Marty and Kelly for Thanksgiving. Even though we couldn’t be here to give the family of mom’s life-long friend our sympathy, we were certainly with you in our thoughts. We have so many fond memories of Betty. I’m sure the whole crew is now laughing and dancing together once again. May thoughts of the peace and happiness she is now experiencing give you comfort in your great loss.

Betty was such a dear sweet lady. She will be missed. Some of the girls from the bank have family members that live at Elk Haven and we saw Betty often. She had such a pretty smile on her face and no matter what she would hold out her hand for you to hold on to her’s. She brought a smile to our faces as well.
