Rita M. Anzinger

Rita M. Anzinger, 93, a resident of Christ the King Manor in DuBois and formerly of 219 Wendel Road, St. Marys, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Christ the King Manor after a lengthy illness.

She was born May 9, 1919 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Schneider Leithner.  She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School.  She was a former employee of Suburban Builders and the Elk Candy Company.

On June 8, 1936 in the St. Mary’s Church, she married Wilfred E. Anzinger who preceded her in death on December 4, 1989.

She is survived by four grandchildren, Thomas (Brenda) Anzinger, Laura (Carl) Evers, Cindy Smith and Julie Hanes; eight great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine “Josie” Hanes of St. Marys.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Haberberger in 1980; a son, Wilfred Anzinger in 2007; two sisters, Margaret Schaut and Marie Daniels; and a brother, Joseph Leithner.

Mrs. Anzinger was a member of the Queen of the World Church and volunteered at the Queen of the World School cafeteria.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, Pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
