Mary P. Bauer

mary-bauerMary P. Bauer, 90, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 30 Hauber Avenue, St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Pinecrest Manor, after a lengthy illness.

She was born July 4, 1926, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Basil J. and Margaret Bryndel Henry. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1944.  Mary did her training to be a Licensed Practical Nurse at Clearfield Hospital and then worked at Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital for 30 years.

On July 4, 1946, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Gerald A. Bauer, who preceded her in death on January 9, 2002.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Patricia Carnes and her husband Robert of St. Marys; two sons, Raymond R. Bauer and his wife Connie of Cherryville, NC and Blaze L. Bauer and his wife Marilyn of St. Marys; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; one sister, Frances Kirkland of Hallton; and by a brother-in-law, Bob Lenze of Brockport.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by a son, John D. Bauer; a grandson, Scott L. Bauer; and three sisters, Virginia Kincaid, Elizabeth Edwards, and Jane Lenze.

Mary was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, St. Anne’s Society, and the Rosary Society of St. Mary’s Church. She was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Police and was a member of the St. Marys Beagle Club and the Senior Center.  Mary was a volunteer for the Special Olympics and in her years, she took four children to Louisiana for the Summer Games.  She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, September 9, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
