Rosemary W. Fritz

Rosemary FritzRosemary W. Fritz, 91, of 225 North Michael Street, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Pinecrest Manor after a lengthy illness.

She was born June 15, 1924, in St. Marys, daughter of the late William and Philomena Knight Wittman. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1943.  She was an employee of the former Enterprise Printing and the St. Marys Gift and Art.

On September 17, 1949, in the St. Mary’s Church, she married James A. Fritz, who survives. She is also survived by two sons, Dale J. Fritz and his wife Anita of Ridgway and Jude J. Fritz and his wife Mary of Mountain Top, PA; five grandchildren, Emily Fritz, James C. Fritz, Joseph Fritz, Rachel Fritz Kishel, and Laura Fritz; and three great grandchildren, Alicia Fritz, Ryan Fritz, and Isaac Fritz.

In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by a sister, Aurelia Luhr; and by two brothers, Willis Wittman and Thomas Wittman. She was the last member of her immediate family.

Rosemary was a member of the St. Mary’s Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Altar Society. She had volunteered at the Learning Center and Elk County Catholic High School.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Church on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Elk County Catholic School System, Advancement Office, 600 Maurus Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 or to Pinecrest Manor, 763 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA  15857.

My sincere sympathy Dale for the loss of your mother. I can remember what a sweet person she was way back when we hung out together in high school. Keep those wonderful memories close to your heart.
