Raymond Mattivi2Raymond F. Mattivi, 78, of 108 David Street, Kersey, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at his residence, after an illness of the past several months.

He was born November 10, 1937, in Toby, son of the late Augustino and Aurelia Mattiuz Mattivi. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1956.  He was a retired employee of the Keystone Carbon Company.

On July 13, 1963, in the St. Boniface Church, he married Helen A. Dollinger, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Debra May and her husband Dale, Jr. of Toby and Paula Tamburlin and her husband Jack of Toby; two sons, Jeffrey Mattivi of North Glenn, CO and Kenneth Mattivi and his wife Rhonda of Kersey; four grandsons, Jacob Mattivi, Zachary Mattivi, Wesley Mattivi, and Kory Mattivi; two step-grandchildren, Roni Sherman and William Anderson; two step-great grandchildren, Emma Samick and Dylan Samick; three sisters, Ann Uhl of Pinecrest Manor, Isabelle Mattivi of Pinecrest Manor, and Lucy Gnan and her husband Leander “Skip” of St. Marys; two brothers, Bruno Mattivi and his wife Rose of Kersey and Edward Mattivi and his wife Mary Ann of St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Jean Mattivi of Raleigh, NC; and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Celestino “Casey”, Irvin, and Renaldo Mattivi.

Ray was a member of the St. Boniface Church. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving 1956-1960, and was a former member of the Fox Twp. Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and the Fox Twp. Volunteer Fire Department.  He enjoyed hunting and going to camp.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the Fox Twp. Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 8:30 until 9:30 AM.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846; the Hahne Regional Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA  15801; or to the Community Nurses, Inc., 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, PA  15857.
